New to the area and not sure where to start? Here are a few suggestions to help you make the most of your visit. Our most popular routes follow easy, flat terrain and avoid traffic where possible. Enjoy peace and quiet with a leisurely ride westwards along the canal or head to Folkestone and discover the quirky Harbour Arm and the Creative Quarter.

RH&DR Railway Trails “ Explore the Marsh”

Grab a bike from RH&DR or Stade Court Hotel.

Now that the RH&DR has a cycle-friendly carriage the opportunities are endless for exploring the Marsh by bike, allowing you to cycle one way and return by train.

Napoleonic Military Canal Trails

Grab a bike from the bike station at RH&DR or the Stade Court Hotel in Hythe, or from Enbrook Park if you are in Sandgate.

Built as a defence against invasion during the Napoleonic wars, the Royal Military Canal is now a peaceful haven; perfect for a relaxing ride away from it all.

Coastal Trails

All of our bike stations are ideally placed for a ride along the long promenade between Hythe and Folkestone Harbour. On a clear day, you can see France and enjoy spectacular views of the coastline all the way to Dungeness.
